Two classes per day |
Yoga
poses will be presented as a path to deeper self-knowledge, physical
well-being and spiritual growth. Classes will focus on alignment
and will offer individualized personal attention to participants.
This yoga retreat is for teachers, aspiring teachers and regular
practitioners. The retreat will be an opportunity for going into
yourself and deepening your yoga practice. We will search for communion
with our own inner beauty in a place of nature’s beauty and
nurturing quiet abounds. Many teachers and practitioners of yoga
from all traditions have benefited from Victor's teaching. |
| |
| Victor
has been teaching Iyengar style yoga classes and training yoga teachers
in the US and abroad for decades. He studies yoga directly with
yoga master Sri BKS Iyengar in India, who certified him to teach.
Practitioners find that taking a class from Victor deepens their
yoga practice and help them find their own voice as teachers. His
approach focuses on developing a deeper body awareness as part of
the path towards a pervasive awareness of self. Expect intensive
and detailed work with the individual yoga poses. |

| *Note:
This is a moderately intensive retreat, prior yoga experience is
recommended |

| Adventures
& Activities: |
Bird
Watching in Nature Hike
Experience a botanical paradise as we trek
through the lush rainforest, discover the endemic wildlife and watch
for the rare St. Lucia parrot. After enjoying a picnic lunch we
will visit a pristine waterfall and bathe in the crystal clear water. |
| |
Beach
and Snorkeling Trip
Enjoy a day relaxing on the beach where we can rent snorkeling equipment
and see the colorful tropical fish and beautiful natural corals. |
| |
Karma
Yoga
As teachers and practitioners of yoga, we have a skill to give to
others. In giving we receive, which is the basis of Karma Yoga,
also known as selfless service. We will visit a home for the elderly
or a community center and introduce people to yoga by sharing some
basics with them. This will be a way to both share yoga with others
and to assimilate some of the new things we have learned in our
own classes. It is also an opportunity to further learn the culture
and meet the people of St. Lucia. |
| |
Balenbouche
Petroglyphs
Hike the riverbed to see ancient petroglyphs created by indigenous
people as much as 2000 years ago when the first Amerindians came
from Central America to the Caribbean islands. |
| |
Sunset
Sailing Trip
Our final afternoon will be spent aboard a boat viewing St. Lucia’s
dramatic shoreline. It should offer moments of special shared beauty
and memories for all that will last after participants leave the
St. Lucia yoga retreat. |
