Mary Aranas presents
Refresh and Restore: Chakra Tuning Yoga Vacation
Download Flyer
Island: St. Lucia
Date: February 16 - 23, 2008
Accommodations: Harmony Suites
Yoga: Twice Daily ISHTA Yoga Sessions
Daily AM classes are Open Level Flow with modifications for beginners and variations for experienced yogis. Evening classes alternate: 3 nights Intermediate Vinyasa Flow, 3 nights of Restorative (total relaxation with hands-on aromatherapy). Find out why students say Mary has a healing touch!  The daily classes tune the seven major Chakras, building day by day from one through seven. All classes are included, but of course optional!

"If you breathe, you can do Yoga."  Mary agrees with teacher Mark Whitwell. Mary teaches Yoga as an expressive and joyful dance of union into Nature and our own divine nature.  Her Ishta classes combine meditation, pranayama (breathwork), postures, mantras and yantras (sounds and visuals) and delicious Restorative poses for a total mind-body-soul tuning.  She is 500-hour Ishta certified and Yoga Alliance Registered and has taught full time since 2002.

ISHTA means Individual, and is an Acronym for "Integrated Sciences of Hatha, Tantra and Ayurveda".  For more on Ishta, see: Mary's influences also include Ashtanga, Iyengar and Anusara .
Adventures & Activities:
Pigeon Island Day Trip
This 44 acre site was once an island accessible only by sea.  Although a causeway now joins Pigeon Island to the mainland, we will enjoy a ferry trip from the hotel to this national park where we will spend an afternoon exploring the grasslands, dry tropical forest and quiet beaches.  A visit to the interpretation center will give us the opportunity to learn more of the Pigeon Island story.  A walk to the the summit provides breathtaking views from the British-built forts where on clear days you can see all the way to the neighboring island of Martinique.
Rainforest Waterfall Trek
We will take a scenic drive from Rodney Bay, through the capital town of Castries, down the rugged east coast where the Atlantic Ocean touches the rocky shoreline to the fishing village of Dennery. From here we will turn inland and drive through farm land and fruit plantations into the lush forest. We will take a short walk to a secluded waterfall where you can take a refreshing bath in the natural swimming pool and experience the untouched beauty of the rainforest up close.
*Note: A full range of additional “a la carte” adventures such as scuba diving, kayaking, horseback riding, wind surfing and massages can be arranged upon arrival. Or just kick back and relax in this beautiful setting!
